Where your views come from, and where they go

Angel and Danny, here is what the public numbers on your YouTube channel say today. This is the starting line for the 20-episode test. Anything marked Studio check is a read we'll confirm once we have your YouTube Studio data.

The channel today

7,990subscribers, up from about 7,300 in August
68full episodes since May 2025
106Kviews on those episodes
521Shorts, 271K views combined

Four things stand out

  1. Most of the big numbers look paid. 14 episodes hold 61% of all episode views, but get almost no likes. Episodes people find on their own get about 6 times more likes per view.Studio check
  2. New episodes are landing quietly. Your last three full episodes have 7, 90 and 184 views. Without the boosted ones, a typical episode gets about 320.
  3. Clips are crowding the episode feed. 29 short clips sit in the same tab as your full episodes, 27 of them since April. They average about 50 views and push the full episodes down the page.
  4. Almost nothing points anywhere. Only 10 of 68 episode descriptions have a link, most of them from the last two months, and only 2 point to your site. Shorts and Reels get real reach, but they don't send people to the full episode.

Ads bring views, but those viewers rarely like or comment. Organic viewers do. So when an episode has thousands of views and only a handful of likes, it was most likely boosted. Each dot below is one full episode.

What Studio will change

The traffic-source report shows exactly how many views came from ads, per episode. Some of these 14 may turn out organic, and a few quieter ones may have been boosted too. We'll swap this estimate for the real split before we pick the 20.

Episodes by quarter

The typical episode, quarter by quarter. Gold bars count every episode. Outlined bars leave out the likely-boosted ones, which is closer to what the show does on its own.

What Studio will change

Click-through rate and average view duration tell us whether a quiet episode has a packaging problem (people see it and don't click) or a content-fit problem (people click and leave). That decides which episodes get new titles and thumbnails first.

The latest ten

The quiet ones here have the least to lose, so they're good first candidates for new titles and thumbnails. Orange views mark the likely-boosted ones. Half have chapters, and links only started showing up in August.

The audience is there. Reels hit 8K to 19K views on a 5,400-follower Instagram, and 96 of your Shorts passed 1,000 views. The gap is the next step. Right now a viewer who likes a clip has no easy path to the full episode or to the site.

What Studio will change

Studio shows how many people go from a Short to a full episode, and how many subscribers each video brings in. That becomes our before-and-after number for the link fixes.

What we do next

Step 1

Get the Studio export. Traffic sources (including ads), click-through rate, average view duration and subscribers gained per video, for the last 12 months.

Step 2

Pick 20 episodes, plus 20 we leave alone. The untouched group is our control, so we can show the change came from our work and not from YouTube shifting.

Step 3

Repackage the 20. New title, thumbnail and description, plus playlist placement, end screens and a pinned link to the site.

Step 4

Move clips to ROA Clips. We agree on the list with you first. Originals get unlisted, never deleted.

Step 5

Measure at 7, 14 and 28 days. Organic views per day, click-through rate and watch time, test group vs. control. You get the numbers either way.
